South West Coast Path Walk : Godrevy Head
If nature and the great outdoors is your thing then you may already be aware of all the natural beauty that surrounds us here in St Ives. It may be difficult to even know where to begin when you arrive but the South West Coast Path Walk at Godrevy Head is a wonderful warm up to the rest of the area.
The best part about the Godrevy Head section of the South West Coast Path is that it is a fairly short walk. It is only 0.6 miles and is a great way to get out in the great outdoors and not have far to walk to have some incredible views. There is one stile and one gentle climb. Due to the stile it may not be ideal for people with pushchairs or impaired mobility.
The short walk will provide you with some beautiful views across St Ives bay and all the way out to Godrevy Island Lighthouse just off the shore.
Children will fall in love with the long beach and the lighthouse. There is also tales of shipwrecks to tell along the walk which the kids and the big kids will love.
There is a lot of wildlife and wild flowers to see. In spring for example, you can see the wild flowers bloom and hear the fulmars nesting in the cliffs. If any of your group is into photography then this is certainly a place to go. You will find many chances of wildlife photography and beautiful landscapes surrounding you.
If nature is your thing then this walk is the perfect walk for you. A nice easy stroll with wonderful views all around, what more could you ask for?
